Pressing pause

Hello Debriefers,
One of the things I like about writing a weekly newsletter is having a deadline. It helps my mind focus and makes me productive.
But today I'm missing the deadline. I am in the midst of writing-up the goings-on and goings-wrong from the Global Disability Summit.
There's a lot to understand from the summit and what it means for international disability work. Rather than frantically trying to get it over the line, I'm going to take my time and get it ready for you next week.
Taking a pause also allows me to share the lovely illustration by Tan Kuan Aw. He shared it with me before he passed, but I hadn't published before. As he told me: “the beauty is what's internal”.
And just in case you need more reading, catch-up on recent Debriefs:
- A good friend of mine, Ida Putri on falling in love with assistive technology in Indonesia.
- Recovering our dreams, my first dispatch on arriving at the Global Disability Summit.
- The choices are not equal, an interview with Raul Krauthausen on the challenges of segregation of disabled people in Germany.
I hope all of you are finding the pauses you need, and a break over Easter if you're into that. Stay tuned and see you on the other side.
Cheers,
Peter
